FAM provided for SKW Stickstoffwerke Piesteritz GmbH, Germany’s largest ammonia and urea producer, a side scraper of type KS 25.5 for reclaiming of urea fertilizers at a conveying rate of 25t/h. The side scraper was installed as part of the project aimed at increasing the storage capacities; its design allows to feed the material onto two existing belt conveyors. Additionally, the reverse operation of the scraper chain ensures optimum distribution of the urea within the working area.
The scope of supply included engineering, manufacturing, delivery, installation and on-site commissioning. The success of the project can be rightly attributed to the in-house fabrication and pre-assembly of the components, a test run of the scraper boom performed in our own facility, as well as a highly skilled site installation team. On December 11, 2020, in compliance with the contract schedule, we turned the machine over to the end-user for operation.
