Shri Bajrang Power & Ispat has appointed CDE ProMet Concentrators as technical consultants for the development of an iron ore beneficiation plant to be located at Tilda in Chhattisargh, India.

The plant will have a capacity of two million tonnes per annum and the concentrate from the new processing plant will feed the 1.2 million tonnes per annum pellet plant currently under construction by Shri Bajrang Power & Ispat at the Tilda site.

The winning of this contract follows the establishment of the CDE and ProMet Engineers collaboration in 2010 which offers operators in India the capability to exploit the potential presented by the vast reserves of low grade iron ore through beneficiation. Commenting on the new project managing director of CDE Asia, Manish Bhartia said: “The award of this contract represents success in a very short time span and is evidence that the new processing capability we have brought to the market is fulfilling a real need within the market in India.”

The CDE ProMet Engineers partnership was officially launched at the IMME exhibition in Kolkata during November 2010. The package of equipment and technical expertise offered by CDE ProMet allows for the implementation of iron ore beneficiation plants for the many small and medium sized steel processors in India.

“We have brought together expertise from all over the world to ensure we are able to offer steel processors significant efficiency improvements and also the opportunity to further develop their business through an expansion of their current iron ore processing capability,” explains Manish Bhartia.

The contract with Shri Bajrang Power & Ispat represents a significant step for ProMet Engineers as it seek to expand its global operations into the Indian market. The company has significant experience working in Australia, Africa and Latin America and sees great potential for the development of further business in India following this recent success.

“India has a lot of untapped potential and our partnership with CDE Asia for the development of a new iron ore beneficiation plant offering ensures we combine our extensive experience in the delivery of numerous mineral processing plants throughout the world with the extensive knowledge and experience that CDE Asia possess within the market in India,” explains Dave Glynn, managing director of ProMet Engineers.
