Shangoni attended the fourth HSE conference in Ndola, Zambia, on 1-2 November 2018.

The conference was focused on the use of technology for HSE sustainability.  Subsequent to a morning session where keynote speakers presented papers, three streams split: Health, Safety and Environment where each stream focused on papers related to technology used in sustainable HSE management.

We presented two papers at the conference:

• Waste management strategies for effective management of non-mining waste on mines. Use of technology such as a Material Recycling Facility – MRF
• Lessons learnt from mine closure

It was a well-organized, well-managed conference, and we hope 2019 will even be better.
