The shore crossing task was a relatively small but critical part of the pipeline project to transport and install 260km of offshore pipeline and 63km of onshore pipeline and metering station. A Jacks Winches 300t linear winch and wire rope spooler was used onshore to pull 1.8km of pipe from the Pipe Lay Barge (PLB) ‘Conquest’ offshore.
Detailed preparation and testing preceded the24-hour continuous shore pull operation. Jacks Winches field support unit comprised of extensive spare parts inventory and tools to decrease the risk for delays in winching the pipeline ashore.
