Manitou - Rough Terrain Equipment

Manitou S.A. is a world leader in rough terrain equipment, supplying equipment to the mines in South Africa for a wide range of surface and underground operations.

Most surface machines are sold as standard units, but Manitou manufactures multipurpose underground units that are fitted with spring-applied hydraulic release brakes on all four wheels.

The machines can also be flame proofed for use in hazardous conditions, and comply with the Mining Health & Safety Act (Act 29 of 1996) and the Minerals Act (Act 50 of 1991).

SURFACE AND UNDERGROUND ROUGH TERRAIN EQUIPMENT

Our range of surface and underground equipment includes rough terrain forklifts for use in stores and yards, with capacities from 2.5t to 7t. We supply conventional forklifts with capacities of 1.8t to 10t, as well as warehousing equipment, such as electric stackers, power pallet trucks and reach trucks.

Manitou also supplies telescopics that can be used as cylinder handlers and tyre handlers for tyres up to 8.5t in weight.

A full rotation telescopic machine for cranes and maintenance work with a range up to 30m is also available. We manufacture telescopic piggy back machines for the delivery of goods from stores to the shafts.

TELESCOPIC HANDLERS

Manitou manufactures underground multipurpose telescopic handlers that can be used for face drilling and roof bolting operations.

Our telescopic handlers can be used for:

• Charge up units
• Cleaning operations with a bucket
• Equipment maintenance
• Tyre handling attachments for changing and handling tyres
• Personnel cages used in tightening roof bolts and hanging air piping
• Transporting supplies on pallets, etc

Our surface and underground telescopics are both compact and highly manoeuvrable, coming in either two four wheel drive versions. Highly versatile, our telescopic handlers accommodate a range of easily interchangeable attachments to create a true multipurpose utility vehicle.

With low maintenance and fuel costs, our telescopic handlers are available in capacities of 2.3t to 16t and lift heights from 3m to 30m.

The company also produces electric knuckle boom and scissor access platforms that can lift up to a working height of 21m.

Manitou also supplies a unique TLB that features a 6m telescopic boom with a 2.5t capacity. We also supply versatile swing loaders with capacities up to 2.5m that can be used in a wide range of loading operations.
