Weba chutes, incorporating the 'supertube' approach, were developed in response to persistent problems experienced with conventional steel chutes. The operation of Weba Chutes is described, with particular emphasis on the design philosophy, and operational characteristics. Typical problems experienced in conventional steel, and steel lined chutes are identified, and the manner in which these problems are eliminated in Weba Chutes is described. Operational performance characteristics of Weba chutes are presented.
