American Pacific begins sampling at Nevada’s Ziggurat Gold Project

Teams gathered 59 rock samples and 20 stream sediment samples from sites identified through previous geological studies.

American Pacific Mining has initiated a field reconnaissance and surface sampling programme at the Ziggurat Gold Project in Nye County, Nevada, US.

Ziggurat is situated at the northern end of the Round Mountain Trend, a productive mining region in Nevada known for numerous large-scale gold deposits.

The project lies roughly 20km from the Round Mountain Mine and 13km from the Gold Hill Mine, both managed by Kinross Gold Corporation, with Newmont Corporation’s Northumberland Mine nearby.

The field programme aims to enhance the company's knowledge of key target areas and broaden geochemical surface coverage across the project.

Teams collected 59 rock samples and 20 stream sediment samples from sites identified through earlier geological mapping, geochemical analysis and geophysical interpretation.

The ongoing reconnaissance and sampling programme is concentrating on assessing areas with favourable alteration, structural features, and geochemical markers suggestive of Carlin-type gold mineralisation.

Earlier studies at Ziggurat identified notable geochemistry with elements like arsenic, mercury and antimony, alongside a large alteration footprint and geophysical targets yet to be explored through drilling.

Rock samples were taken from specific outcrops, float, altered zones and sites of geological interest.

Stream sediment samples were gathered to analyse geochemical dispersion patterns on a drainage scale and to pinpoint potential upstream areas for future investigation.

Results are anticipated in the second quarter of 2026.

American Pacific Mining exploration managing director Eric Saderholm said: “Ziggurat is located in the emerging Round Mountain Trend in south central Nevada in an area dominated by calderas, epithermal gold/silver systems and sediment hosted expressions, including the nearby multi-million-ounce Northumberland gold mine.

“At least three stages of igneous and volcanic heat sources have generated multiple nearby prospects and operating mines. Our Phase I field work has identified abundant untested alteration zones over roughly 75% of this large property.”

American Pacific Mining upholds rigorous exploration and analytical standards at the Ziggurat Project.

Company personnel, overseen by geological staff, collected rock chip and sediment samples.

These samples were securely bagged, labelled and transported under strict chain-of-custody protocols to ALS Global Laboratories Geochemistry.

The samples will undergo preparation and analysis using standard industry methods.

ALS Global Laboratories will send the final assay certificates directly to the company.

Prior to this, the company announced assay results from its underground sampling at the Madison Copper-Gold Project in Montana, US.
