Talga Group has entered into a binding offtake term sheet with Dainen Materials of Japan for the delivery of Talnode-C, a high-performance anode material produced in Sweden.
The agreement reserves up to 2,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of Talnode-C capacity for Dainen Materials or its customers for a five-year period.

Delivery is expected to commence in late 2027 with options for extension.
According to Talga, this arrangement follows a previous letter of intent (LoI) signed in July 2026 and follows testing of Talnode-C to meet the specifications required by Dainen Materials’s Japanese battery industry clients.
The agreement commits both parties to use commercially reasonable efforts to finalise a definitive master supply agreement by March 2027.
Final purchase volumes will be specified in that contract.
Talga Group CEO Martin Phillips said: “The progression to a binding offtake term sheet with Dainen reflects the successful maturation of Talnode-C through years of intensive testing and customer qualification in one of the world’s most demanding battery markets.
“It confirms Talga’s ability to deliver high-performance, fully traceable anode material from a Western supply chain.”
Pricing under the current arrangement will be set at a negotiated price floor, with an additional premium for FEOC-free, environmental, social and governance, and traceability features.
The term sheet is binding in terms of capacity reservation, commercial framework, and obligations to negotiate, though it does not set final purchase volumes at this stage.
Dainen Materials executive vice-president Daisuke Hayabara said: “Dainen’s mission is to secure sustainable, traceable and diversified battery material supply chains for our customers.
“We are delighted to have signed this term sheet with Talga, a new supplier of graphite anode material. We look forward to working together toward the definitive Master Supply Agreement and the continued qualification of Talnode-C with our customers.”
Dainen Materials is a supplier of battery anode components to global automotive, energy storage, and electronics manufacturers in Japan.
Talga stated that the deal enhances its position as a Western supplier of natural graphite anode material with traceable and lower-emission characteristics, addressing the preference among Japanese firms for secure and independent supply chains.
