The partnership aims to support the customer’s operations across phosphate mining and agricultural fertiliser production.
Under the agreement, John Crane will provide dedicated on-site technical and service personnel, giving the client’s maintenance teams direct access to specialist expertise.
The initiative aims to extend the operating life of equipment between failures and provide greater control over maintenance costs.
John Crane will help identify reliability issues, implement recommendations, and address ongoing mechanical seal concerns.
John Crane Saudi Arabia and Bahrain general manager Hani Attia said: “For this customer, equipment reliability matters because it helps keep its mining and processing operations running.
“By bringing dedicated expertise closer to its operations, we aim to help maintenance teams address issues earlier and reduce recurring failures.
“The fixed fee for covered overhaul services will help the customer plan expenditure, while training will strengthen its own maintenance capability. Together, these measures are designed to support more consistent operations over the long term.”
As part of the programme, a fixed-price structure for mechanical seal overhaul services will improve budget and maintenance-planning predictability over the contract period.
A new on-site workshop, managed by John Crane, is planned to bring mechanical seal maintenance capabilities closer to the customer’s geographically remote operations.
The agreement also features technical training and knowledge transfer activities designed to strengthen the customer’s in-house capability to address reliability challenges.
According to the company, the contract extends its reliability services in the mining sector and could expand to additional mining operations in Saudi Arabia under a broader strategic partnership.
