The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.15% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.

Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.03% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 0.31% over the last three-month average share.

Top five mining companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 136.84% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s mining industry during March 2022 over February 2022.

Teck Coal posted 18 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 80% over the previous month, followed by Teck Resources with 17 jobs and an 88.89% growth. Rio Tinto with 4 IT jobs and American Iron and Metal with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while American Iron & Metal Co recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.49%, up by 121.43% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.75% share, registered an increase of 22.22% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 20.75% share, up 450% over February 2022.
