SmartPlanes has after presentations held with Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), and US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), received orders for its fixed wing unmanned aerial systems (UAS), Freya, equipped with multiple sensors.

The sale of the UAS is handled through a General Services Administration (GSA) procurement contract, held by SmartPlanes’ distributor Caron East.

SmartPlanes Freya is a micro class unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The payload bay can carry up to 600g of sensor equipment payload, and Freya has in its current configuration an endurance of one hour’s flight time.
