The steel processing capability at Brown McFarlane International’s Oryx Works distribution centre in Jebel Ali has been enhanced through the addition of two large plate cutting beds.

The beds, which are 13.4m in length and 3.5m wide, have been positioned end to end so that they span almost half of the full 56m width of the warehouse. The design and installation was managed and supervised by Ramesh Rajamani who is the company’s Operations Manager. "The amount of cutting space now available to us", says Ramesh, "will allow us to process more material in less time which gives us more flexibility and takes the service we offer to our customers to even higher levels".

Brown McFarlane International’s purpose built warehouse is situated in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, which is the perfect location for distributing steel within the U.A.E., to other Gulf states, and further beyond. The company stocks thousands of tonnes of high quality pressure vessel and offshore specification steel plates with enhanced chemical and mechanical properties. These are specifically ordered to meet the needs of the fabricators, designers, and engineers in the region who must comply with the exacting requirements of the region’s oil and gas majors.
