Trident - Mono Rope Winches, Locomotives and Muckers and Loaders

Trident South Africa is a manufacturer of equipment for the global mining industry. Trident's products include electric mono rope winches, compressed air driven loaders and mockers and electric and battery powered locomotives. Trident also provides parts and refurbishes used equipment. Trident has the world's largest installed base of battery/electric mining locomotives. The company was established in 1969 and today employs over 160 people, servicing mining and engineering companies worldwide.

TRIDENT ELECTRIC MONO ROPE WINCHES

Trident's mono rope winch ranges are the workhorses of the mining industry. They are manufactured from high quality materials on numerically controlled equipment. All drive gears and bearings in the gearbox are enclosed totally in an oil bath. Bearings are cartridge mounted for ease of assembly and maintenance replacement. All cartridges are provided with extraction holes.

Rope sheaves are mounted on tapered drive shafts for increased rigidity. These sheaves are heat treated for increased life and are also provided with extraction holes for ease of replacement.

GOODMAN ELECTRIC AND BATTERY POWERED LOCOMOTIVES

The Goodman family of medium to heavy locomotives includes battery, trolley and combination battery / trolley models. The range is constructed to withstand the rigors of high-production mining. Designed and built in our Wadeville, Johannesburg plant by engineers and craftsman who understand the demands of the underground environment and the need for quality and reliability.

Goodman mining locomotives are the most numerous globally. Goodman locomotives feature single reduction, axle hung, slow speed motors for longevity and low maintenance. Goodman production model locomotives meet most applications. Optional features are provided in the initial design, not as an afterthought. Goodman engineering expertise caters for special engineering, modification of production models and inclusion of unique operational features.

COMPRESSED AIR POWERED MUCKERS AND LOADERS

The Eimco, Lenning and Trident ranges of muckers and loaders include the 12B, 21, 215 and the Model 26B which boasts a 2t to 3t per minute loading capability. The range also includes the Model 630 with its crawler arrangement that makes it ideal in situations where a trackless application is required. The air motors fitted to these models provide ample power for fast loading cycles, larger buckets and higher discharge heights

High torque is maintained throughout the life of the motor because Trident's rotary valve system reduces air loss by keeping valve wear to a minimum The top deck of the Model 26B has the ability to swing to either side of the tracks facilitated by a powerful cylinder. The Model 26B also includes extra safety features including a detent that locks the upper deck in the centre position while the bucket discharges.

Trident's loaders have a range rail gauges to suit all mining and tunneling requirements.
