Pecoy Copper deploys third drill rig at Peru project

The third rig enhances Pecoy Copper's drilling capacity, supporting the ongoing 35,000m diamond drilling campaign.

Pecoy Copper has announced that a third drill rig has begun operations as part of its exploration programme at the Pecoy Copper-Gold-Molybdenum-Silver Project in southern Peru.

The third rig enhances Pecoy Copper's drilling capacity, supporting the ongoing 35,000m diamond drilling campaign.

This programme prioritises key copper targets, expands geological understanding and explores areas highlighted by past exploration.

Drilling activities are in progress in the Centre of the Pit and Central Breccia zones, while the third rig has restarted operations in the South Breccia zone.

The company considers this drilling phase crucial for the systematic evaluation and potential expansion of the project.

Pecoy Copper aims to conduct the programme safely and responsibly in collaboration with local stakeholders and technical teams.

The Pecoy project features a major copper system, with an inferred mineral resource of 865 million tonnes at 0.34% copper, alongside gold, molybdenum and silver.

Breccia centres are present, notably the South Breccia.

Pecoy Hill's topography supports potential open-pit mining, featuring significant surface mineralisation.

The location is at a low elevation of around 1,650m, accessible year-round, and close to infrastructure and ports.

The first two holes revealed that PEC25-065 found 1,014m of 0.37% copper and 0.13 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from a depth of 17m, while PEC25-066 encountered 1,020.5m of 0.43% copper and 0.09g/t gold from 48m.

Pecoy Copper also sees additional potential at Tororume, located 8km north, where all historical drill-holes have intersected mineralisation.

Pecoy Copper president and CEO Vincent Metcalfe said: “The commencement of a third drill rig marks an important step forward for Pecoy Copper as we continue to advance our exploration programme.

“With the rainy season now behind us, we expect drilling activities to intensify in the coming months.

“Increased drilling capacity will allow us to test priority targets more efficiently and continue building a more comprehensive understanding of the project’s potential.”
