PlatSearch’s subsidiary Variscan Mines has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ERAMET to assist in the development and construction of new projects in Europe.

Under the MoU, ERAMET will earn an interest in the metal projects acquired by Variscan by funding the engineering and construction of the metallurgical plant at a mine site.

ERAMET will also provide Variscan with its downstream mineral processing, metallurgical R&D and refining capabilities, and marketing skills.

PlatSearch’s managing director Greg Jones said that the MoU will allow the firm to leverage its strong geological and exploration skills and its knowledge and technical understanding of Europe.
