CaNickel Mining has received an Environment Act licence from the Manitoba Government to construct and operate a land-based tailing management area (TMA) at its Bucko Lake mine in Manitoba, Canada.
The TMA is expansion of the existing interim tailing storage facility and will store all tailing from the Bucko Lake mine for the remainder of its mine life.
The firm will carry out the construction of the TMA in two phases, with the first phase currently underway and expected to be completed by end of 2011 or early 2012.
CaNickel Mining CEO Dianmin Chen said that with the grant of the licence, the firm will advance its strategic plan and ramp up and expand the operation at Bucko Lake mine and develop the untapped resources in the Thompson nickel belts.
