Here are the ten largest surface and underground mining projects by production in Oceania in 2020, according to GlobalData’s mining database.

1. Moolarben Mine

The Moolarben Mine is a coal mining project in New South Wales, Australia. The brownfield project is owned by Yanzhou Coal Mining and is due to operate until 2030. The mine produced an estimated 21.7Mt of ROM in 2020. It had an estimated production of 19.7 mtpa of coal in 2020.

2. Telfer Mine

The brownfield mine produced an estimated 7.078Mt of ROM in 2020. It had an estimated production of 144.487 thousand ounces of gold in the same year.

9. Ensham Mine

The Ensham Mine is a coal mine located in Queensland, Australia. Owned by Idemitsu Kosan, the greenfield project produced an estimated 5.777Mt of ROM in 2020.
