The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 2.67% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.82% share in November 2021, recording a decrease of 0.4% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 5.88% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s mining industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

Rio Tinto posted 5 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Teck Coal with 4 jobs and a 33.33% growth. American Iron & Metal Co with 3 IT jobs and Teck Resources with 3 jobs, recorded a 66.67% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Kinross Gold recorded an increase of 50% with 3 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.96%, flat growth from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 25.93% share, registered a decline of 12.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.11% share, flat growth over October 2021.
