Kemco Engineering: Restoring Operations, Maintaining Profitability

Many industrial and manufacturing businesses rely heavily on a single piece of machinery or factory equipment for their ongoing profitability.

Consequently, when something goes wrong with the industrial electronics this can cause huge problems. This is exacerbated by the fact that many operations own ageing infrastructure which is no longer supported by the manufacturer and has little associated documentation.

The challenge

Duons were approached by Mount Isa machining workshop Kemco Engineers, whose horizontal borer machine, a vital piece of equipment, was nonoperational. Their electrician had identified a burned out relay board as a likely culprit.

The client also raised another longstanding issue, namely that the machine had been taking up to an hour to switch on.
