A recently filed patent (Publication Number: US20230235425A1) describes a hot-rolled strip steel product with specific chemical composition and microstructure properties. The steel product has a chemical composition consisting of various elements such as carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, nickel, copper, molybdenum, aluminum, niobium, vanadium, titanium, and boron, with the remainder being iron and impurities. The microstructure of the steel product consists of ferrite, with at least 50% being polygonal ferrite and at most 10% being quasi-polygonal ferrite. The steel strip product also has an average hole expansion ratio of at least 50%, a yield strength (Rp0.2%) longitudinal to the rolling direction of at least 660 MPa, and a tensile strength of at least 760 MPa.

The patent also mentions additional properties and characteristics of the steel product. For example, the steel strip product has an average ferrite grain size of less than 10 µm. If the amount of titanium in the steel product is between 0.0050% and 0.020%, the amount of nitrogen is less than 100 ppm. The steel product may also have an average hole expansion ratio of at least 60% and/or a tensile strength of at least 790 MPa. Additionally, the product may have a yield strength (Rp0.2%) longitudinal to the rolling direction of at least 700 MPa. The steel product has a thickness ranging from 1.5 to 8.0 mm. The sum of silicon, manganese, nickel, and chromium in the steel product is between 1.5% and 2.5%, while the sum of niobium, vanadium, and titanium is between 0.060% and 0.40%. The carbon amount in the steel product is determined by a specific formula mentioned in the patent. The average size of VC precipitates in the steel product is less than 10 nm. The ferrite structure may comprise more than 80% polygonal ferrite. The steel product can also be galvanized.

The patent also includes a method for manufacturing the steel strip product. The method involves providing a steel slab with the specified chemical composition, heating the steel slab to the austenitizing temperature, hot-rolling the slab to the desired thickness at a specific temperature range, air cooling and accelerated cooling, and finally coiling the hot-rolled strip. The cooling process can be continuous.

In summary, the patent describes a specific hot-rolled strip steel product with a defined chemical composition and microstructure, as well as various mechanical properties. The patent also includes a method for manufacturing the steel strip product.
