Power Metallic Mines has appointed BBA to lead a preliminary economic assessment (PEA) covering the Lion and Nisk Main deposits at its Nisk Project in Québec, Canada.

Mobilisation is scheduled for late September, with substantive engineering due to start in October and completion anticipated in the first half of 2027.

The PEA will evaluate mining and processing options, infrastructure, capital and operating costs, and the preliminary economics of developing the deposits.

The economic analysis will be based on a mineral resource estimate dated 8 September 2026.

GeoVector Management will retain a key geological role, while SGS Canada’s independent qualified persons will oversee the geological, mineral resource and metallurgical aspects of the technical report.

The assessment will primarily consider the high-grade Lion deposit, with the role of Nisk Main to be determined following ongoing metallurgical studies.

Additional drilling in the Lion Deeps area and work stemming from the Muon study will continue alongside the PEA.

Power Metallic operations vice-president Christopher Beal said: “Our immediate priority is to establish the basis of design so that the broader engineering can proceed efficiently.

“The PEA will then develop a technically grounded initial development case, define its capital and operating requirements, and identify the work needed to advance the project into subsequent feasibility studies.”

The environmental baseline study, which began in January 2026, remains in progress.

A first field season is scheduled to conclude in October 2026 and a second round is planned for the summer of 2027.

Nemaska Resources is leading the environmental programme, supported by Groupe Synergis, part of BBA since May 2025.

Power Metallic has appointed Rouyn-Noranda-based ethos stratégie to support community engagement including stakeholder mapping, relationship building with local communities and authorities, and developing strategies that incorporate community interests and traditional knowledge.

The PEA and associated environmental and community programmes are funded from existing company resources.

In June 2025, Power Metallic signed an agreement to acquire a 100% interest in 313 mineral claims spanning 167km² from Li-FT Power, marking a significant expansion of its Nisk-Lion polymetallic project area in Canada.
