Tertiary Minerals has released drill results from its phase four programme at the Mushima North Project in Zambia, showing the continuation of high-grade silver-copper-zinc mineralisation beyond the previously defined exploration target boundary at Target A1.

To date, results from 29 out of the 39 reverse circulation (RC) drill-holes, totalling 3,639m, have been reported, with laboratory assays from eight more holes expected in the coming weeks.

The company has delineated a shallow high-grade zone within the Discovery Zone at Target A1.

Drilling at this location revealed a mineralised area measuring approximately 400m in length and 150m in width.

Notable intersections reported include 52m at 99 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 0.41% copper, and 0.43% zinc from 39m, as well as other intervals such as 22m at 90g/t silver, 0.13% copper and 0.44% zinc.

Tertiary Minerals stated that true widths for these intervals remain unknown.

Drilling also returned intersections exceeding 1% copper, including 10m at 1.01% copper, 165g/t silver and 0.78% zinc.

The Discovery Zone remains open both along strike and at depth, with several holes ending in mineralisation.

Drilling has also identified accessory minerals such as bismuth, antimony and cobalt, although their potential economic significance has not yet been assessed.

A separate, new shallow copper zone was intersected approximately 900m from the Discovery Zone in the Western Zone, with initial portable X-ray fluorescence results including 25m at 0.38% copper.

The Mushima North Project, held through Copernicus Minerals, 90% owned by Tertiary Minerals (Zambia) and 10% by Mwashia Resources, is located in north-west Zambia, 28km east of the historic Kalengwa mine.

The project operates under a technical cooperation agreement with First Quantum Minerals, providing access to historical exploration data and geological expertise.

A mineral resource estimate for Target A1 is anticipated before the end of the year.

Additional drill testing of other targets within a 12km radius is yet to commence.

Tertiary Minerals managing director Richard Belcher said: “We are delighted with the analytical results received to date from our recent Phase 4 drill programme, which have allowed us to delineate a substantial higher-grade mineralised zone within the current Exploration Target.

“Notably, the mineralisation within the higher-grade zone remains open at depth, with numerous holes ending in mineralisation beyond the current modelled Exploration Target boundary.”
