South Africa’s Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources has granted and executed a mining right for Uru Metals’ Zeb nickel project on the Northern Limb of the Bushveld complex in South Africa.
The Zeb Nickel mining right has been issued to project company Lesego Platinum Uitloop (LPU) and covers a 30-year term through 2055.

The newly granted mining right encompasses an area of more than 4,703 hectares, spanning parts of the Bloemhof 4KS, Uitloop 3KS, Amatava 41KS and Piet Potgietersrust Town & Townlands 44KS farms within the Mogalakwena local municipality in Limpopo province.
According to Uru Metals, post-execution formalities are currently in progress, with the mining right being prepared for registration at the Mineral and Petroleum Titles Registration Office in Pretoria.
The company will provide an update to the market once the registration process is confirmed.
The company is also proceeding with scheduled ground gravity and frequency-domain electromagnetic (EM) surveys, which are set to begin over two priority targets at the Zeb nickel project, as announced on 16 October 2025.

Uru Metals will issue further updates regarding modelling outputs, drill parameters and timing after receipt of the contractor’s report.

“Our immediate priority is to complete the ground EM and gravity survey and associated modelling and present a clear, efficient drill plan focused on the highest ranked targets; registration formalities are in progress.”
