Red Mountain Mining has identified outcropping garnet skarn at its Greenstone and Mammoth prospects, part of the company’s Pioneer Tungsten Project in Montana, US.

This follows the company’s decision to exercise its option to acquire 100% ownership of the Pioneer Project.

Fieldwork conducted by the company’s US crew in late May confirmed visible exposures of garnet skarn at the two prospects, prompting the collection of 24 rock chip samples, which have been submitted for multi-element analysis.

Results from these tests are expected before the end of June.

The Pioneer Tungsten Project consists of three claim areas – Greenstone, Mammoth and Lost Creek – positioned along the eastern margin of the Mount Torrey Batholith.

According to Red Mountain, this region is characterised by thick limestone-hosted garnet skarns known to contain tungsten mineralisation, specifically scheelite (calcium tungstate).

A recent magnetic modelling study carried out by Arrow Geosciences suggests the presence of subsurface magnetic bodies beneath the Greenstone and Mammoth claims.

These are interpreted by the company as potential shallow extensions of the granodiorite source associated with the skarn mineralisation.

Red Mountain stated that this supports the possibility of additional limestone-hosted, tungsten-bearing garnet skarn mineralisation at depth below the exposed quartzite.

The area surrounding the Pioneer Tungsten Project claims includes adjacent properties acquired in November 2025 by Almonty Industries.

The neighbouring Gentung Tungsten Deposit, also on the eastern margin of the Mount Torrey Batholith, has a stated mineral resource of 6.83 million tonnes at 0.315% tungsten trioxide.

Historical mines in the vicinity, Ivanhoe and Lost Creek, are estimated to have produced a combined total of 680,000t of tungsten ore in previous decades.

Red Mountain indicated plans for further reconnaissance mapping and surface sampling throughout June 2026.

The company noted that, subject to receiving positive analytical results, it expects to proceed with drill testing of possible downdip extensions of skarn mineralisation at one or more prospects in the project area.
