Mansfield Minerals has received an environmental permit from the Salta Provincial Government for the development of the Lindero open pit, heap leach gold mine in Salta Province, Argentina.
The firm is currently carrying out a bankable feasibility study on the project, which is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2012.
According to the pre-feasibility study conducted in 2010, the project has proven and probable reserves at 0.19g/t at cut off grade 1.92Moz, with measured and indicated resources at 0.20g/t at a cut off grade of 2.20Moz.
The firm is assessing different production options, from a standard ten-year life of mine production plan to selective mining approaches, which will allow for initial processing of higher grade ore at reduced throughput.
This strategy will reduce the initial project financing requirement and the associated capital risk and payback period.
