IVRCL Consortium has received a Rs11.76bn ($235m) contract from Hindustan Copper for the development of an underground mine at Malanjkhand copper project in Madhya Pradesh, India.
The Malanjkhand copper mine is divided into two parts – the north mine and south mine – each with a production capacity of 2.5Mtpa.
Under the five-year contract, IVRCL will provide services such as sinking and equipping of the production and service shaft; sinking of the north and south ventilation shaft; excavation of south and north declines; and excavation of main drives and other development.
The contract will also involve the supply, erection and commissioning of permanent installations for winders, ore handling system, crusher, ventilation fans, pumps and conveyors.
