Brockman Mining has hired engineering company Engenium as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for their Maverick Project, a new iron ore development located at the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Maverick is the initial stage of Brockman’s detrital iron ore operation development at its completely owned Marillana Iron Ore Project.
The Maverick product is planned to get transported by road trains through the Great Northern Highway to the Utah Point facility at Port Hedland from where it will be exported.
As per the contract terms, Engenium will provide PMC services for Maverick that has been categorised under mining processing, non-process infrastructure and general infrastructure components.
Maverick operation will conduct nearly seven million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of detrital material mining, which will be processed through a dense media circuit system.
The operation is expected to give approximately 2.5mtpa to 3mtpa of high-quality (61.5% Fe) iron ore fines.
Engenium managing director said: “We have worked with Brockman in the past and are happy to continue our relationship with the Brockman team once again.
“This PMC contract is exactly what Engenium was established over a decade ago to do, and that is to provide smart project delivery services.”
The awarded contract consists of the completion of the feasibility phase, initial engineering development works, implementation and construction delivery after receiving the FID approval.
Engenium has already commenced a competitive early contractor engagement project for the processing plant and will engage the successful proponent with the design and construction contract.
It is expected to be completed by early 2018.
