
Alrosa’s subsidiary company Bourevestnik will supply five X-ray slurry analysers for nickel mining company MMC Norilsk Nickel’s Talnah concentrating mill.
According to Alrosa, the analysers AR-31-NM will be used to determine the concentration of nickel (Ni), copper (Cu) and iron (Fe) in technological products including tailings and concentrates of flotation process.
Through automatic mode express analysis of technological products, the instrument ensures better management as well as control of technological processes of ore treatment.
Under the terms of the contract, Bourevestnik will supply services, including start-up works, installation supervision, training and maintenance of the mill.
Bourevestnik, which manufactures X-ray equipment for industrial and scientific purposes, also designs dedicated diamond mining equipment – X-ray sorters so as to improve diamond bearing ore and sorting machines.
Russian mining and metallurgical company MMC Norilsk Nickel has its operations in the Norilsk-Talnakh area in northern Russia. The company produces nickel and palladium, in addition to platinum and copper.
The key shareholders of Norilsk Nickel are Interros and Rusal and each of them reportedly own over 25% of shares.
