LKAB Minerals has signed an agreement to acquire Francis Flower, as part of its growth strategy.

The acquisition will enable LKAB Minerals to increase its iron ore production and expand within the industrial minerals market.

Based in Sweden, LKAB Minerals is involved in the mining and processing of industrial minerals. Francis Flower is a family owned industrial minerals company based in the UK.

Genius Properties has completed its merger with Cerro de Pasco Resources by issuing more than 176 million common shares to the Cerro security holders.

The transaction follows a merger agreement signed between the two companies in November 2017. This required Genius to spin-off all of its assets and liabilities to Genius Metals (SpinCo), a wholly owned subsidiary of Genius, and the distribution of  SpinCo shares to shareholders of Genius.

Genius has changed its name to Cerro de Pasco Resources Inc following the transaction.

Chile’s antitrust court has partially approved Tianqi’s proposal to acquire approximately 25% stake in Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile (SQM) for $4.1bn.

The court supported the agreement made by both parties with regard to the transfer of commercially sensitive information.

The agreement restricts Tianqi from naming any of its executives or employees to the board of SQM. It is also required to inform regulators about the future deals entered with either SQM or Albemarle, a speciality chemicals company based in the US.

Based in China, Tianqi is engaged in mining and producing lithium concentrate and manufacturing of lithium compounds. SQM is a Chile-based company involved in lithium production.
