Kuniko has completed its phase two of diamond drilling programme at the Silica Hill prospect, part of the Commonwealth Project in the Lachlan Fold Belt, New South Wales, Australia.
The programme consisted of five diamond drill-holes totalling 1,492m, and aimed to further test and expand geological knowledge of the Silica Hill mineralised system, targeting both the interpreted Northern and Southern Lodes.

Drilling tested these mineralised trends laterally and at depth, reaching significantly deeper into the system than much of the historical drilling undertaken at the prospect.
Kuniko acquired its interest in the Commonwealth Project in October 2025 and has since concluded 11 diamond drill-holes with a combined length of 2,731m.
The additional drilling is intended to improve the company’s geological interpretation and support the planned update of the mineral resource estimate (MRE) for the area.
According to Kuniko, the new MRE is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Selected holes from the recently finished phase two programme have been prepared for downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveying. This follow-up work is intended to search for conductive responses that may indicate the presence of further sulphide mineralisation beyond the currently defined system.
The company stated that previous DHEM surveys at Silica Hill had highlighted connections between the mineralised system and geophysical features.
Processing and sampling of drill core from phase two is nearing completion, with assay results expected in October 2026.
The results will be incorporated into updated resource modelling for the Commonwealth-Silica Hill system.
Kuniko managing director Maja McGuire said: “Completing Phase 2 drilling is an important milestone for Kuniko, with 11 diamond holes now completed for 2,731m across the Commonwealth-Silica Hill system.
“The programme has significantly advanced our understanding of the mineralised system, with assays expected in October and planned DHEM surveys to provide further insight into potential extensions.”
Alongside drilling and resource estimation efforts, Kuniko continues to progress exploration of regional targets across the broader Commonwealth-Silica Hill district.
The company is prioritising additional drill targets for future testing, informed by geological mapping, geochemical analysis and geophysical surveys.
The broader regional work is proceeding in parallel with the current resource-focused activities at Silica Hill.
