The US’s mining industry registered a 15.2% rise in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 3.87% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.06% share in October 2021, recording an increase of 0.31% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s mining industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.86% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s mining industry in October 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 59.48% in October 2021, registering a 102.94% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 13.79% share, a decrease of 11.11% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.93%, registering a 46.43% decline from September 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 8.62%, down 16.67% over the previous month.
Top five mining companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 32.2% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s mining industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Nucor posted 31 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a rise of 19.23% over the previous month, followed by RTI International Metals with 25 jobs and a 150% growth. Freeport-McMoRan with 9 IT jobs and Aditya Birla Management Corp with 7 jobs, recorded an 80% flat growth and a 46.15% decrease, respectively, while Freeport-McMoRan recorded an increase of 20% with 6 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 50%, down by 6.45% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 33.62% share, registered an increase of 85.71% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 16.38% share, down 20.83% over September 2021.
