The US’s mining industry registered a 10.5% rise in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 7.1% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.
Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.36% share in November 2021, recording an increase of 0.32% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s mining industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.36% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s mining industry in November 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 49.68% in November 2021, registering a 9.86% growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 19.75% share, an increase of 93.75% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 14.01%, registering a 4.35% decline from October 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 8.92%, up 40% over the previous month.
Top five mining companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 56.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s mining industry during November 2021 over October 2021.
Nucor posted 34 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 9.68% over the previous month, followed by Harsco with 30 jobs and a flat growth. Tronox with 13 IT jobs and RTI International Metals with 10 jobs, recorded a 225% growth and a 60% decrease, respectively, while Charter Manufacturing recorded a flat growth with 7 job postings during November 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.59%, up by 15.71% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 31.21% share, registered an increase of 28.95% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 17.2% share, up 42.11% over October 2021.
