The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.84% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.

Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.12% share in December 2021, recording a decrease of 0.07% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 3.51% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s mining industry during December 2021 over November 2021.

Freeport-McMoRan posted 22 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a rise of 175% over the previous month, followed by Nucor with 9 jobs and a 73.53% drop. RTI International Metals with 8 IT jobs and ThyssenKrupp with 8 jobs, recorded a 20% decline and a 700% growth, respectively, while AngloGold Ashanti recorded an increase of 100% with 8 job postings during December 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 50.98%, down by 35.8% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 28.43% share, registered a decline of 39.58% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 20.59% share, down 27.59% over November 2021.
