IT jobs accounted for a 3.22% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 0.13% over the last three-month average share.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 37.69% in October 2022, a 68.97% rise over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 22.31% in October 2022, marking a 39.58% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 17.69% in October 2022, a 15% rise from September 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 12.31% in October 2022, a 45.45% rise over the previous month.
Top five mining companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 63.33% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s mining industry during October 2022 over previous month.
RTI International Metals posted 13 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 44.44% over the previous month, followed by Teck Resources with 12 jobs and a 9.09% growth. Freeport-McMoRan with 11 IT jobs and Vale with 7 jobs, recorded a 120% rise and a 600% rise, respectively, while Equinox Gold recorded a 50% increase with 6 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s mining industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with a 66.15% share in October 2022, a 10.42% decrease over September 2022. Canada featured next with a 33.85% share, up 37.5% over the previous month. recorded a flat share, a flat growth compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.15%, flat growth from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 30.77% share, registered a growth of 42.86% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.08% share, down 37.04% over September 2022.
