Germany’s mining industry registered a 62.1% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 55.4% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.87% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s mining industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.34% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s mining industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 59.76% in July 2022, registering a 600% growth over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 15.85% share, an increase of 333.33% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.2%, registering a 150% rise from June 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 4.88%, up 300% over the previous month.

Top five mining companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 440% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s mining industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

ThyssenKrupp posted 66 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 6500% over the previous month, followed by Heraeus with 8 jobs and a 20% drop. Norsk Hydro with 3 IT jobs and Salzgitter with 2 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and a 33.33% decrease, respectively, while Swiss Steel recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.61%, up by 342.86% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.41% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.98% share, up 800% over June 2022.
