September 2022 has seen a decrease of 0.11% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 5.89% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 0.38% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 28.13% in September 2022, a 12.5% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 25% in September 2022, marking a 40.74% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 21.88% in September 2022, a 22.22% drop from August 2022.

Top five mining companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 26% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s mining industry during September 2022 over previous month.

Heraeus posted 12 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 20% over the previous month, followed by Elval with 9 jobs and a 25% drop. En++ Group with 7 IT jobs and Rio Tinto with 5 jobs, recorded a 65% drop and a 37.5% drop, respectively, while Eramet recorded a flat growth with 4 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s mining industry

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with a 20.31% share in September 2022, an 18.18% increase over August 2022. Greece featured next with a 17.19% share, down 8.33% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 15.63% share, a drop of 28.57% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.44%, down by 7.84% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.19% share, registered a decline of 15.38% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.38% share, down 14.29% over August 2022.
