Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 51.39% in March 2022, a 52.56% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 23.61% in March 2022, marking a 15% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 12.5% in March 2022, a 47.06% drop from February 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 21.57% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s mining industry during March 2022 over previous month.
ThyssenKrupp posted 27 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered an increase of 92.86% over the previous month, followed by Voestalpine with 10 jobs and a 66.67% growth. Heraeus with 9 IT jobs and Rio Tinto with 9 jobs, recorded a 50% rise and a 50% rise, respectively, while Anglo American recorded a 63.16% decline with 7 job postings during March 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s mining industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with a 34.72% share in March 2022, a 3.85% decrease over February 2022. The UK featured next with a 23.61% share, down 29.17% over the previous month. Austria recorded a 13.89% share, a growth of 66.67% compared with February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.67%, down by 49.47% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.67% share, registered a decline of 62.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 16.67% share, down 50% over February 2022.
