The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.17% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.3% share in October 2021, recording a decrease of 0.13% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.44% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s mining industry in October 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 26.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s mining industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Gold Fields posted 12 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a drop of 50% over the previous month, followed by AngloGold Ashanti with 9 jobs and a 10% drop. BHP with 8 IT jobs and Fortescue Metals Group with 8 jobs, recorded a 20% decline and a 33.33% growth, respectively, while Newcrest Mining recorded a decline of 30% with 7 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.08%, down by 14.93% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 17.95% share, registered a decline of 26.32% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.97% share, down 30% over September 2021.
