IT jobs accounted for a 4.26% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering an increase of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.

Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in June 2022

Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 29.31% in June 2022, a 62.22% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 25.86% in June 2022, marking a 36.36% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 22.41% in June 2022, an 18.75% drop from May 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 26.92% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s mining industry during June 2022 over previous month.

Fortescue Metals Group posted 10 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered an increase of 233.33% over the previous month, followed by Anglo American with 6 jobs and a 100% growth. BHP with 6 IT jobs and Newcrest Mining with 6 jobs, recorded a 20% rise and a 53.85% drop, respectively, while Orica recorded a 150% increase with 5 job postings during June 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s mining industry

Australia commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with a 77.59% share in June 2022, a 42.31% decrease over May 2022. Singapore featured next with a 6.9% share, flat growth over the previous month. Japan recorded a 6.9% share, a flat growth compared with May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
