Kazakhstan accounts for 1% of global production, with the other largest producers being China (52%), India (10%), Indonesia (7%) and Australia (7%). Exports of coal from Kazakhstan remained flat at 23Mt in 2022 over 2021, with the highest share being exported to Russia. Kazakhstan’s coal exports are expected to grow at a CAGR of 0.39% between 2022 and 2026, to 23Mt by 2026.
