The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 2.27% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.

Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.72% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 0.36% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 16.13% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US mining industry during June 2021 over May 2021.

Freeport-McMoRan posted 9 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a drop of 30.77% over the previous month, followed by AngloGold Ashanti with 8 jobs and a flat growth. Ryerson with 7 IT jobs and Aditya Birla Management Corp with 6 jobs, recorded a 133.33% growth and a 100% increase, respectively, while Freeport-McMoRan recorded a 50% decline with 6 job postings during June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 48.78%, down by 34.43% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 42.68% share, a growth of 84.21% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.32% share, down 50% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.22%, recording a month-on-month an flat growth.
