June 2021 has seen an decrease of 1.55% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 4.07% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering an increase of 0.2% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 54.64% in June 2021, a 29.27% growth over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 18.56% in June 2021, marking a 63.64% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 12.37% in June 2021, a 14.29% drop from May 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 37.5% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s mining industry during June 2021 over previous month.

Polyus posted 33 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 200% over the previous month, followed by ThyssenKrupp with 21 jobs and a 32.26% drop. Rio Tinto with 10 IT jobs and Voestalpine with 7 jobs, recorded a 400% growth and a 75% increase, respectively, while Heraeus recorded a 25% decline with 6 job postings during June 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s mining industry

Russia commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with a 38.14% share in June 2021, a 105.56% rise over May 2021. Germany featured next with a 13.4% share, down 51.85% over the previous month. the UK recorded a 12.37% share, a growth of 50% compared with May 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.35%, down by 3.8% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 17.53% share, a growth of 112.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 3.09% share, flat growth over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.03%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
