July 2021 has seen decrease of 0.76% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.57% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering an increase of 0.54% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 47.14% in July 2021, a 24.53% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 22.14% in July 2021, marking a 47.62% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 12.14% in July 2021, a 5.56% drop from June 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 38.24% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s mining industry during July 2021 over previous month.
Gold Fields posted 38 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered an increase of 22.58% over the previous month, followed by Glencore with 22 jobs and a 10% growth. BlueScope Steel with 13 IT jobs and Rio Tinto with 12 jobs, recorded a 225% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while BHP recorded an 800% increase with 9 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s mining industry
Australia commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with an 88.57% share in July 2021, a 22.77% rise over June 2021. New Zealand featured next with a 3.57% share, down 79.17% over the previous month. India recorded a 3.57% share, a growth of 150% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70%, flat growth from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.43% share, a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 3.57% share, up 400% over June 2021.
