Star Copper has concluded its exploration campaign at the wholly owned Star Project in the Golden Triangle region of northwestern British Columbia (BC), Canada.

The 2026 drilling programme, consisting of 10,419m across 28 holes using two drill rigs, expanded the Star Main copper-gold porphyry system beyond its historic boundaries.

The campaign doubled the total historical drilling on the project, targeting extensions of the Star Main core east, northeast, north, and west.

Of the total drill metres, 9,357m were completed within the Star Main area, with a further 1,062m across the Copper Creek, Star North, and Star East satellite targets.

Results from geological logging indicated widespread occurrences of visible copper sulphides across multiple, particularly deeper, drill holes.

In the northeast, seven holes covering approximately 2,489m extended the known mineralised corridor.

Notably, these holes followed up on past intercepts, including historical hole S-025, which previously returned 269m at 0.42% copper and 0.198 g/t gold. Hole S-054A recorded 183m at 0.28% copper equivalent, including a 45m section at 0.47% copper equivalent.

On the project’s western side, hole S-076 reached the targeted geological horizon at roughly 525m vertical depth, identifying visible copper sulphides over a 60m interval.

Another hole in the vicinity, S-079, reached 750m, the deepest on record at the property, and encountered similar mineralisation.

According to Star Copper, the zone in this area remains open to the northwest and at depth.

Supporting the drill campaign, the company completed 37 line-kilometres of 3D induced polarisation (IP) and magnetotelluric (MT) geophysics.

A maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) for Star Main is the stated technical priority, with the company aiming to complete it in the first quarter of 2027.

Assays from the 2026 programme remain pending and are expected to be released as sample processing concludes.

Star Copper president and CEO Darryl Jones said: “To prove the hypogene system keeps going northeast, and finally get into the deeper copper-gold horizons on the west side that had previously turned back drill rigs for years.

“We did both, accomplishing everything we set out to achieve while only needing 10,000m of drilling to get there.”
