Talisman Metals has released the first assay results from the initial four reverse circulation (RC) drill-holes of its 2026 exploration campaign at the Tirzzit Project, located 225km east of Agadir, Morocco.
The company reported consistent copper mineralisation within sedimentary strata dating back to the Late Precambrian period.

Key drilling intercepts included 2m at 1.56% copper and 64 grams per tonne (g/t) silver from an 8m downhole in drill-hole TRC01.
Another interval from drill-hole TRC02 showed 0.31% copper over 10m from a depth of 2m.
In TRC04, results included 0.31% copper and 7g/t silver over 5m from 83m depth, with 1m within this interval grading 1.05% copper and 19g/t silver.
The ongoing drilling programme is designed to assess the extent, grade and geometry of the stratiform copper-silver system within the Late Precambrian basal series strata at Tirzzit.
Talisman stated that the results will inform a future resource estimate.
Drilling is set to continue across various targets within the project area over the next four to six weeks.
Further assay results are expected to be reported throughout the fourth quarter of 2026.
Talisman has implemented a quality assurance and quality control programme during the RC drilling.
According to the company, blank samples indicated no notable contamination, and certified reference materials returned results within acceptable ranges.
The Tirzzit Project comprises two mining licences covering 16.5km².
The company announced the acquisition of the project from a subsidiary of Aya Silver & Gold, which currently holds a 4.7% stake in Talisman Metals.
Talisman CEO Tim McCutcheon said: “These initial results from Tirzzit confirm the existence and location of copper-bearing sedimentary strata and we believe that as we complete the drill programme, we will uncover stratigraphic folds within the basal series that bear wider zones of mineralisation, as is common in analogous deposits from around the region.”
Last month, Talisman acquired three new exploration licences adjacent to its existing Tirzzit Project.
