Gordon Mining has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of TT Minerals, which owns the Tungsten Tail Project in Sierra County’s Tierra Blanca mining district in New Mexico, US.

The agreement with Lamina Minerals covers 41 contiguous unpatented lode mining claims, representing around 847 acres or 343 hectares.

The Tungsten Tail Project, formerly known as the Silver Tail mine, is located on the east side of the Black Range, around 12km south-south-east of Kingston and 15km south-west of Hillsboro.

The claims cover the historical Tungsten Tail mine as well as the central section of the Pierce Canyon fault, a geological feature traced by the US Geological Survey (USGS) for approximately 10km.

The area also includes the former Jayhawk workings, noted as a base-metal and silver prospect.

Historical records show that the Tungsten Tail mine shipped limited quantities of scheelite-bearing ore in 1942 and in 1955.

Owner-reported grades at those times were around 3–4% tungsten trioxide as noted in US Bureau of Mines and USGS documents.

Subsequent USGS stream-sediment mapping completed in 1978 identified a tungsten-molybdenum anomaly along the Pierce Canyon fault, with interpretations suggesting potential for skarn mineralisation at depth.

In 2023, the USGS conducted an airborne magnetic and radiometric survey across the area including the Tungsten Tail claims.

Gordon Mining stated that it plans to interpret this public data as part of its future exploration efforts.

The company intends to deploy a geological team for mapping and sampling in preparation for future drilling work.

The 41 claims comprising the project were first located in August 2026 and have current maintenance fees paid through the 2027 assessment year.

These claims are administered by the US Forest Service and are held by TT Minerals, with a transfer of interest from Strata Mine Technologies pending.

Gordon Mining president and CEO Ryan Connacher said: “Tungsten Tail gives Gordon Mining a tungsten exploration project in the US with a documented history. The mine shipped small quantities of tungsten mineralisation in 1942 and 1955.

“A 1957 Bureau of Mines examination recommended further work, and in the late 1970s the USGS mapped and sampled the structure that crosses the project and described the zone as a good exploration target for deposits at depth. We have found no record of any drilling on the project.”
