First Canadian Graphite has completed the initial stage of exploration at its Zone 13 discovery within the Lac Guéret South Project in the Côte-Nord region of Quebec, Canada.

As part of this work, the company has also expanded its mineral claims at the site.

During the programme, crews identified graphite mineralisation along a 3.3km section of a previously unexplored electromagnetic conductor.

Through detailed mapping, prospecting and grab sampling, the team outlined a number of graphite occurrences along this trend.

A total of 46 grab samples were collected from Zone 13 and have been sent to ALS Global for fast-tracked assay analysis. The company expects to receive the results in the coming weeks.

First Canadian Graphite also recently signed an option agreement with two local prospectors to acquire a full interest in 51 adjoining mining claims in northern Quebec.

Completion of the agreement remains subject to approval by the TSX Venture Exchange, and all securities issued as part of the arrangement will be subject to a hold period of four months plus one day.

Ahead of finalising the agreement, the company carried out a due diligence site visit at the Esbec Occurrence, which is the main area covered by the new claims.

During this visit, the exploration team identified the graphite discovery outcrop, reviewed sample markers from past exploration efforts and collected an additional sample from a high-grade graphite area.

If the option is fully exercised, First Canadian Graphite’s land position would expand to more than 2,707 hectares comprising 51 contiguous claims in the region.

Data from the ongoing sampling programme, as well as continued mapping and analysis, will help direct future exploration, including plans for further drilling and sampling activities scheduled for late 2026.

First Canadian Graphite CEO John LaGourgue said: “We are very encouraged by the results from our first pass on Zone 13.

“We are looking forward to getting the assay results back from the lab, and in the meantime we will be on the site again in the first week of August for Phase II of our summer exploration programme, which will methodically follow up on Phase I and build strong momentum toward our planned late-fall drilling campaign.”
