Roxgold has secured permitting approval of the environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) to develop the Bagassi South project from the Burkina Faso Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development.
The company noted that the approval is an important step in the permitting process and solidifies the project’s development timeline.

Bagassi South is one of the targets within the Yaramoko permit, which covers around 196km² in the Province of Balé in south-western Burkina Faso.
Roxgoldpresident and CEOJohn Dorward said: “The approval of the ESIA for Bagassi South allows us to confirm our development decision and begin mine development and construction for our first growth project on the Yaramoko concession.”
Based on mapping, the area at Bagassi South is expected to host a quartz, sericite, pyrite (QSP) alteration zone currently mapped to be around 250m along a strike at the surface.
As part of its continuing efforts to advance the development of the project, the company intends to begin underground mine development and construction activities in the first quarter of this year.
