The government of Quebec had previously ordered all non-essential businesses to close until 4 May. Glencore says it is engaging with relevant authorities, unions and other stakeholders with regard to measures designed to minimise the impact of the virus on its operations.

The company has ten iron ore leases in the state, Bloomberg reported.
