Amex Gold Mining has announced the completion of complete drill and blast works for a bulk sample portal at its Perron development site in north-western Québec, Canada.

This marks a significant step in the portal construction process, aimed at providing access for the company's underground development and planned bulk sampling programme.

The portal's completion will facilitate a 40,000t bulk sample initiative. This programme is expected to generate geological, geotechnical, metallurgical and operational insights, while confirming the high-grade potential of the Perron Project.

Future integration of this infrastructure into a commercial mine is contingent on obtaining the necessary permits.

Following the blasting, the portal contractor, CMAC-Thyssen Mining Group, has started clearing the blasted material.

The contractor is due to begin ground support installation shortly.

Last month, Amex Gold retained CMAC-Thyssen Mining Group as the contractor for the 40,000t bulk sample programme at the Perron Gold Project.

Amex Gold Mining president and CEO Victor Cantore said: “This is another defining milestone for the Perron Project.

“We look forward to commencing ramp development in the near term as we continue to safely and responsibly advance the Perron Project toward bulk sample extraction."

The construction of the underground exploration ramp will adhere to Amex Gold's approved guidelines, with an emphasis on safety, environmental responsibility and community engagement.

Amex Gold plans to provide further updates as the Perron Project develops.

The Perron Gold Project is located approximately 110km north of Rouyn-Noranda and comprises 183 contiguous claims across a surface area of 65.72km².

It hosts numerous zones of high-grade gold, volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) and hybrid gold-rich VMS mineralisation.
